Is Education to Fertilizer the quickest path?

I did it last night with Korea 2cc cultural attempt, but I picked up guilds, sailing and Opera Houses before I went for Fertilizer, so I wasted some time. Ended up at t167 iirc.

Fertilizer would have a synergy with the Freedom tree's reduced food for specialists.

All you have to do to find the quickest path to any era is on the first turn of the game, open the tech tree and select each of the first techs in the target era. Whichever one shows the lowest queue number is the one you can get to fastest.

-- provided you go to the beaker techs first (philosophy/education).

otherwise, I'd say it's likely Industrialization or Scientific theory if you're looking for a 'post-education' jump to the industrial era.

Yes, lets say I already have Education. In terms of raw beakers, which one would be fastest from that point?

For me its Industrialization. Its a nice tech because you get a nice instant hammer boost from any Coal already under your mine or city tiles (happens a lot if you mine every hill). Also lets you have a go at getting Big Ben, which quite powerful imo and Gatling Guns (really good for China). You might wanna hold off on factories tho if you plan on taking Order, or you'll waste the boost from the second policy.

Edit - My point is its a great tech as well as being one of the fastest entries to the Industrial era.

If it's for cultural victory Scientific Theory should be the most optimal - you can avoid the entirety of water-related techs and Steel and just steal them along the way as you reach for Scientific Theory.

Industrialization would be faster if you're ignoring Acoustics and Hermitage tech but why would you do that for a cultural game?

I did something very wrong. I needed more pop in the capitol. Lost by 10 turns to runaway Attila.

What turn is this? Beyond T300?
