I know the normal retail version of this game comes infected with securom. Is there other distributions that do not have this particular crapware on them?

I bought my copy from Direct2Drive and have no issues. I highly doubt they would ship CD's that were infected anyways, sounds a personal problem unless you can produce links confirming.
