zbg will play some turns tonight. I suspect his turnset will last 2-5 more days.

ngraner42, do you foresee availability for yourself to play the next turnset?

Played to T98. Currency is in.

Here's the save: Link

I was very disappointed that JC and Napoleon are the only ones with any cash to trade (and that was only 1 or 2). However, I did pick up a good deal from JC. I traded him MC for Monarchy + 30 gold.

We won the race to Colossus AND got 163 in failgold. I call that a major success!

In general, units have been coming faster than my city micro planned for. I should be able to get those extra settlers started soon.

My main concern is that Math is still not available. Louis researched it, but he doesn't like us enough to trade and Churchill still thinks he needs to keep it for himself. HBR will be done in 2 more turns. If something doesn't shake loose in those 2 turns, we'll have no choice but to research Math.

I had checked with Vicky about buying Poly for cash, but I just realized that we can use Priesthood to cut down the cost. I'll make that trade when I resume.

Good work.

You appear to have found two new barb territories.

Take a look at Gondar... you stole rice and copper from Tatooine and Deer from Death Star. Ouch!

NO TRADING MONARCHY! We don't want to speed up Longbows.

We should consider gifting Louis Metal Casting. Then see if he will trade us math and HBR for cash for IW, Currency. He states he won't trade because he doesn't like us enough.

Churchill may be going for the Hanging Gardens. Maybe this is why he won't trade math.

Thanks, I'm not sure how I missed that.

I went back in and fixed that this morning. I also made the trade with Vicky: Priesthood + 75 gold for Polytheism. I then sold Meditation to Napoleon for 30 gold to get back some money.

I saw that Vicky had already researched Monotheism, so I went ahead one turn.
She's willing to trade it for 200 gold, which is almost everything we have. Probably we can trade her HBR in one more turn and get a little cash in the deal.

Here's the T99 save.

We should consider gifting Louis Metal Casting. Then see if he will trade us math and HBR for cash for IW, Currency. He states he won't trade because he doesn't like us enough.

This sounds like a good option if it works. We've identified Louis as an ally, but right now he's annoyed with us (-3 relations). A gift that large should get us back to cautious. Getting OB with him would also give our chariots some more territory to explore.

I replicated our game situation and it did not work. "I don't like you enough" turned into "I don't want to trade away this tech just yet".

BTW, Louis has Ivory. He will have elephants once he get construction.

I think we should give Louis MC for his gold stash if he gets up to 75 gold. If someone finishes a wonder, look that turn to see who has fail gold to trade.

FYI, Louis just finished the Pyramids in 425BC.

Ok, I'll watch for something over 75 gold.

I think we already have the full +4 "fair trade" bonus with Churchill. Should I look for a sweetheart deal with AC to get more diplo points?

FYI, Louis just finished the Pyramids in 425BC.

Hmmm, I don't think we got our failgold yet. I'll double check, but if not, it must show up the next turn. I'll watch for anyone else with a sudden infusion of cash.

ideas:
- sell priest to sully
- sell IW to louis
ok to buy next turn mono for HBR + all the money she get.

for math trade only MC or HBR

endor death star, dagobah, geek central, finish current then start stable. settler in dagoba must not be started, use 1 turn of gold instead

jabba, library after WB

why did we build gondor here? I could see more interesting cities to built before this site.

for next tech, start COL at 0/turn, we can't finish construction yet anyway.
for the rest: construction for the win!

good progress so far :)

Trades sound good.

I was thinking Endor, GC, and Death Star could handle the HA's, and then Dagobah could get a stable built in time for Elephants. I suppose I can go with Stable right away. It's not likely anyone else will try to settle the spot W of Dagobah anytime soon.

Gondor will eventually steal the rice from Tatooine and maybe the Deer from DS, and it has two fish of its own. We don't have any other city sites with 4 food resources. The next city, E of Geek Central, could technically have 4, but we can't afford to take the cow away from GC.

It sounds like you want to buy a little more time to work out a trade for math. I was thinking about that myself. I'll see where we end up on money after the trades and how many turns it will take to build up our bank account enough for Construction.

It seems like we're in agreement, so I will probably continue playing tonight. (in 4-5 hours) maybe not, this evening is starting to look a little crowded

I think a forge in Dagobah still pays off.

I don't like giving IW to Louis. I'd rather give him something bigger to try to get +4 diplo. I don't want to increase his power and get only 30 gold in return. We may need it as a throw in for a tech trade.

IW to louis:
he will get IW in very little time. everybody else have it.
I'd rather get something from that than nothing.

forge: it will pay back in a long time, i'd rather a stable but could live with it.

Well, I'll make a short update. I didn't get to play as far as I wanted because of a computer crash at the end of T100. I notified AlanH and Deckhand, and then I loaded the T100 autosave and replayed my moves. I uploaded the save at that point.

Game isn't paused, so watch out for that if you open it.

I got Mono from Vicky and saw that she already had Theology. I figured I better not waste any time, so I activated the GP and bulbed. However, I checked the GC city screen to see about switching to the AP and it wasn't available. I think it has to do with the attached screenie, but I'm not sure what exactly that means.

Nobody got much failgold from the 'mids. (We got 22) Louis is up to 60 in cash. I was going to wait one more turn and then see about selling him MC at a discount.

It really is best that you stop to consult when a major decision such as using a great person without agreement on how to proceed. Edit: My mistake, I didn't see this in the PPP, so I missed my opportunity to object.

The AP is not available because we are not running a state religion. (And as the screenshot states, we don't have that religion in the city.)

Ok, I kind of thought we had reached a decision on how to use him. Thinking back on it, that conversation was mostly between me and Astre, so sorry if we concluded that discussion prematurely.

I guess the good news is that Vicky can't possibly beat us to the AP, since none of the AI have really gone after the barbs yet.

No more archers! We have a lot of archers. Some of them need to go to Alderaan. Right now, that is our only actual threat.

Don't promote any units until they need to be promoted. Several archers already have Garrison 1 promotion. Save the promotion in case the extra 20% is not needed and can be used to heal or if a combat promotion is needed to go on the offensive against a unit.

Sell iron to Louis for 60 gold

Pre-mine those forested hills east of death star with 3 turns, so we get quick chop/mine.
