FP, UoS, GT done. Significant improvement to gpt shortage. Thanks coastal cities for growing!

Now look through cities and not much else to do this turn.

We have EP visibility on Lyons. LB, Axe, Archer. No settler.

Turn done. Going to play these pretty fast now. No uploads every turn.

Roose and Church were at war last turn, but already open borders. No cities connected though.

We are AP residents.

Let's go for time victory!

250AD - 43.88% pop and 27.97% land. Think we can reach target. More worried about pop in demos. Rival best went up to 334k. We are 3rd with 281k. These numbers can jump very rapidly. If roose were to grow Washington from pop 7 to pop 8 same turn we win, he gets >100k increase.... We can't be 100% safe here unless he whips something soon, or we'd have to grow at least a pop 7 city ourselves. But our value increases quite quickly, we'll see.

Quick pause to test EP cost.

I'll have EP for spy missions gathered already by 275AD. But I don't think we have enough stuff to win yet that turn. A lot of cities grow just in time for 325AD.

I sold him CoL last turn. Now only Music, Calendar, Philo and Compass available. Guess I could give Compass.

London also at pop 7 now, but hasn't been long. I doubt he would grow to pop 8. But should I gift him building techs still? MC, Optics, Currency?

AP-Without whips we would have 8 pop and AI total of 8 pop. We'd be at 66% = safe. If the AI whip 2 pop between turns we are still safe. 16/22 = 0,72. If they whip out 3 pop (Church could 2 pop FV), it's game over. We can't afford a turn of anarchy. Should I keep our Tao pop down at 7?

Health is no problem, we are doing very well there. Approval won't be problem either, I can save up some gold for culture slider.

275AD - Now it looks like it could have been possible to win 300AD. We are again first in pop demos, 358k vs 334k. Pop% 46.58, land% 28.09. Target was 47 and 30. We lose some, then gain some when capping De Gaulle. Unfortunately, I did not yet gift Legendary and microd EP to maximize gold for culture slider with 325AD victory in mind. In any case, I'm not sure if we would have dared ending game now. If even one Roosvelt city grows between turns, he could pass us in demos. I also have a bunch of border pops set up for 325 AD.

I'm gifting Legendary now. Next turn I gift the rest and take back.

GPT positive at 30% slider!!! :eek:

And we're about to gift 4 pop Hong Kong to De Gaulle. That's -48k in demos. :(

Hmm did we give Roosi all techs that unlock buildings he could whip?

They like Forges i think.
Harbor probably okay too, fast whip.
Unless we want to avoid boost for their health (just thinking about all possibilities)

300AD, culture spread completed. Will delete remaining spies.

47.4% pop and 29.16% land, before I gift more cities to De Gaulle.

27 tiles gained by border pops between turns, take 1 tile from Legendary, earn 8 tiles from half of De Gaulle land. Total gain 36 tiles. Our final land% should be 31%

Only 4 pop growth between turns. We gift 7 pop to De Gaulle to keep, get 5 pop back by taking Legendary and half his pop. Overall, this stays pretty much the same. What happens to % depends on what everyone else does. If it drops below 47% we lose a point and are not eligible for victory.

Currently 1st in demos population. 488 vs 391. Gifting HK which now is worth 90k. Silky grows to pop 6, boosts it's number by 60k. Overall we should stay at about same number next turn. If Washington grows a city from pop 7 to pop 8 we are not eligible for victory.

Thoughts?

Our 4 growing cities add 129k to our demos pop. We gift away HK and Island worth 92k. Take back Legendary worth 1. Final value should be 528k. Roosevelt can't reach that in 1 growth. Can easily if 2 cities grow...

Currently 154 pop in world. We grow 4 op between turns, but if total world population is >159 next turn, we are below 47%... Unless the growth comes from our vassals, in which case we might get an extra pop to ours. Geez this is tight. Don't know what to do...

So if I finish now and 2 barb cities grow between turns, nothing else happens, it's game over. If 2 barb cities grow but someone whips, it might not be. If Roosevelt grows 2 pop we are fine, if Church grows 2, we are also fine. If Church and De Gaulle grow 1 each we are screwed...

Should I just end this nightmare?

I don't have much more growth scheduled in the next few turns. I think we must end it now and hope for best... As it turned out, this turn we could have been good to win.

:aargh: Can't end it now. Can declare now, take cities and cap him next turn. This was the timeline I had in mind for EP missions all the time, but somehow managed to miscalculate victory date in relation to EP missions. I should have gifted other cities last turn and declared. We weren't getting any trade route bonus on espionage mission, would have been same at war. Getting too tired for this...

Gifting cities, taking back. Checking micro with new victory date in mind.

My opinion would be that we tried everything, and if we lose i do not mind.

What the? After Island cities, he is only willing to accept Rome (liberate), Orleans (liberate), Silky Sushi or Hamburg. Short on gold... Must gift him some. Gift in chunks of 20?

Gifted 25, made no difference...

First 25 did nothing. I need him to take 3 more cities. I can squeeze 115gpt more out of this. A bit more if I delete even more units. Should I try another 25? 21? All 115?

Okay, 21 is the magic number. First 21 and he took two cities, another 21 and he took Moscow. We are good to continue.

well, maybe has to do with previously owned, but I always see defenders when liberated..even ones I settle myself

Well there must be a difference then between previously owned, and random city with (liberate), those did not get defenders in my test.
Or maybe founded cities (with settler) get defenders only, but i am too tired anyways.

Had we ended game last turn, we would now have 46.8% pop and 419 points...

Pop on demos easily first right now.

Not sure what to do now. Right now, with half of De Gaulle's pop, we do not have enough. We have 2 growing between turns.

2 cities growing between turns, 5 more in 2 turns.

Finishing in 2 turns is safer. Which is our choice?

Again same situation as last turn. We grow 2 pop, if 2 pop grow elsewhere in the world, it could mean game over (depending on where they grow).

After all this, I think play safer. When we gain 5 pop, we'll be super safe. Silky also at pop 7 to secure demos.

Aaand... we would have been safe. Oh well, even safer next turn. Doing last checks.

De Gaulle trying his best to screw us over by offering Island in capitulation deal. :lol:

hmm...tested myself...of course, this is very beginning of a game...must be some other factors that initiate the free units in libbers...techs, era, etc (I don't know)....something for elite to look into at a later date :)

Do what ya'll feel is best for you...be nice to get a qualifier, but it is very late across the pound and I know ya'll must be on your last gas

I vote for elite and My to pull an all-nighter:mischief: (especially since I put in SOO much hard work here today)

Curious, can we demand any cities from any vassals?..or trade for any

De Gaulle capped. I opened borders and we are first in all ranks. :)

47.85% pop, 31.19% land. Target was 47 and 31. Next turn will be a bit higher pop.

Diplomatic - 18 votes required, 16 of them are ours. They can whip two and we are still safe. Not growing any more votes myself.

19 votes required for AP victory, 16 of them were our own, rest also heading our way.
48.84 pop%, 31.43% land

Overall this should be a 421 point victory.

Ap should be 58. Did we get too many votes? 16 was our own vote? 3 from ai? Oops.

Everyone should of voted for us. Ai needed to be 25% of vote.
