It's 1000 AD, I'm doing very well. I have my four cities.

Game is just sort of clicking along. Other than me stealing a Settler early on there has been no war anywhere.

So.... there are cities for the taking. Should I just be happy with my four? I never know when to go to war just to build up a big empire.

Poland is always a friend to me in my games. He grows big, but he seems to always remain loyal.

Casimir can be an arse sometimes.. Make a dow on him if you want but don't lose troops foolishly.

If your score is say 40% higher than the next persons I notice they pretty much never attack you.

I don't even have much of an army, but I keep scouts making sure they aren't building one up anywhere.

If it is early in the game and your score is 40% higher than the AI score, then you are playing on a very easy level and therefore it does not matter much what you choose to do - the game is won.

I guess someone asked themselves the very same question in 1939.

Must be some clue in a book somewhere.
