I'd like to go back to wonder-building.

Yes all of them but some are a lot harder to see like sistine and notre dame.

No, you can actually see right on the map if a city is building a wonder, as long as you've discovered the city in question. The easiest to see are Machu Picchu (on top of a mountain) and the Great Wall (you'd have to be blind to miss that one!).

Either with an ambassy or with scouting the city yourself.

Selling your embassy early can get you some quick gpt at the beginning if you hold off writing for a bit and research other beginning technologies instead.
