FYI, at least 3/4 of the people who won the game on deity, played a duel map with just one AI opponent.

Achievements are not worth much. If you enable a single mod, they are disabled. I haven't gotten a single achievement in 3+ years because I like my game pretty. Still, it's better than Civ:BE where you can spawn yourself huge armies around enemy capitals in turn 1, reload the save without mods and win instantly.
 
However you can't go by steams stats dealing with mods for guidance on this because at least one of the three achievements dealing with mods was broken late in Vanilla and it became impossible for anyone else to get.
