Suggestions for Dynamic Names

Anybody else finds Rhomanian republic weird(Byzantium when republic)? I think something like New Roman republic would be much more cooler, as it would represent the return of democracy to Roman empire.

America in city states: States of America.

the non-svn American vassal name under Spain is province of New Mexico. I don't think New Mexico and represent all of America. How about naming it New Mexico and Beyond instead?

America in city states: States of America.

If it has to be changed from United States, I'd suggest something like Perpetual Union (of America?), which calls back to the Articles of Confederation, a much more city-statesy arrangement than the Constitution.

Why not simply Confederate States of America?

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, isn't a confederation an extremely loose politicl union? Sort of like what City States represents?

City States represents literally independent cities, not any loose political association of any kind. It's an anachronistic civic in the late game.

Protestant China = Taiping Heavenly Kingdom (possibly with Capital = Nanjing)

Leoreth whats your opinion on having USSR vassals = XXX Soviet Socialist Republic or do you prefer the current Soviet XXX ?

I've being reading about Nazi foreign policy.
England was never intended to be part of 'The Greater German Reich' - Hitler used the term 'The Anglo-Saxon Kingdom' and wanted her to be a 'great naval ally'.
He intended to compromise with Arab governments and wished to establish 'Reichs-protektorats' in some areas of the Arab world.

So generally Nazi vassals = Reichskommisariat XXX if the area would have been included in 'The Greater German Reich'.
Outside this area then vassals = National Socialist XXX to represent a Nazi puppet regime.
And also the exceptions.

Is this logical?

In general yes, the question is, do we let Hitler decide what you can make part of your empire in the game? It all boils down to the question of what vassal states actually represent, and that varies.

Yes, that's why I thought too, calling them 'States of America' does not insinuate any kind of union, while the current dynamic name, Empire of Columbia, does (empire).

Yes, city states generally don't influence your name unless you have a historical precedent for actually running the civic.

Vassals are self-governed, so names like Province or names that imply it is part of your nation like Reichskommissariat should not be used I think.

Hitler was a great admirer of Frederick the Great. Surely he knew about the Anglo-Prussian alliance. I believe that he genuinely wanted to avoid a war against Great Britain, at least until Russia was subdued. But Churchill would not allow that.

In game too, it's much more optimal for Prussia to get England to Friendly, conquer Continental Europe and the Middle East (FOR OIL), and win Diplo via UN than go for UHV. Which is why I almost never go for UHV.

Why attack England when you have no real conflict of interests?

The three weirdest vassal names I've seen were:

The Portuguese Continuing Revolutionary Proccess (I have no idea what caused this...)
The Portuguese Government in Exile (once again, I couldn't tell why)
The Latin Empire (Byzantium, when vassal of Holy Rome)

What caused the first two? And should a vassal be called an 'empire?'

I believe that the second one occurs when Portugal's capital is kicked out of their core area, but not into Brazil. Again, I could be completely wrong.

The Latin Empire is historical; it was established by the 4th Crusade after Constantinople was captured. I suppose Byzantium should (and might, I have no idea) have the same name as a vassal of any western Catholic power before a certain date.

I saw this Name once, IIRC its their Name, when they´re Communist and not vassal of Russia.

That makes sense, because once I was playing a game as Japan and the communist countries were:

USSR
USSA (United Socialist States of America)
PCRP (Portuguese Continuing Revolutionary Process)
PRC (People's Republic of Japan)

Historically, Portugal at one point because "The United Kingdoms of Portugal and Brazil." Shouldn't this be incorporated in?

Lastly, is there any document that has all of the dynamic names?

Look into Assets\XML\Text\. I don't want to write a convenient guide because imo finding out new names on your own is part of the fun.

It's weird that there's still "Tributary ___ States" in the industrial and modern eras (chinese vassals)... They should be changed to generic vassal titles I think.

Just btw, I love your icon Leoreth. Beifong rules.

I do not think they should be generic, with regards to Chinese vassal names.

Perhaps the modern day equivalent should be Special Administrative _______ (i.e. Anxi, Ying) Zone.
