Terry Pratchett diagnosed with Alzheimer's

Yeah, maybe this will allow him to end the series the way he wants it to end. Let's hope . . .

I remember reading that he would sometimes get letters from dying people, saying that they hoped that when they met Death it was as he described him . . . he said those were the sorts of letters that would leave him staring at the wall.

OH SNAP!

This is not good.

Tremendously sad. He's brilliant.

How long has be got?

Too short. It's early onset Alzheimer's according to the site. :(

Gosh, I hate this disease. 50% chance of hitting people by the time they're 85.

With those odds, you'll know quite a few people with this disease, in your day.

We should be doing more.

This sucks. why does it always happen to the good people?

Some time ago I read about a study which suggested that smoking decreased your chance of having Alzheimer by a very large %...... now that I think about it it might just have been because smokers didn't get old enough to develop the disease :crazyeye:

IIRC the advance of Alzheimers is slowed drastically by use of appropriate medication and keeping mentally active. I trust TP has a good many years in him yet.
