The thread was briefly posted before this one was created, and so the nominations were limited. Any fool can name 20 groups they like, and thus could easily have effected the poll here by nothing more then default simply by naming any unmentioned prior to. It would make more sense to list favorites by category first or allow the first 20 to gain (x) nominations.

So representative of the previous thread or not, the results are biased to say the least.
The nomination thread was up for over 24h. Nominations was limited to one nomination per poster. The bias is the result of the musical tastes prevalent in CFC OT.

If you feel you can do better, be my guest.

Just to add to that, there is another thread where you can choose 3 albums and the winner(s) are worked out on points, without a poll :)

I would not vote for any of these...

No Iron Maiden, or Motorhead?

Total scandal!

Edit:
No Sabbath either!

Hang your head in shame!

 hpmh no cool hard rock here only pure progressive music. It seems that style fits well with a civilization player. My choices are The Cure, then Radiohead, then Pink Floyd ;)

Sure, sure.

I am sure there is a factory somewhere, chruning out standard 'civ-player' humans.

If I was the USA, I would be issuing a pre-emptive nuke strike right now...:)

:D

I feel quite happy that there are more metal heads in here than I once thought

Am I the only one who likes Zep2 better than 4?

I personally prefer Led Zep 3 to 4 but thats just my personal preference

I'm more a single fan than an album fan.
Most albums contain too much ****y tracks.
Well Reckless (1984) from Bryan Adams isn't
on the list, should be nominated,I voted for
Dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd.

Zep 4 is the best Led Zeppelin, without a doubt. Remember: "Stairway to Heaven"- prolly the greatest song ever.

For favorite album ever, I'm going with Dark Side of the Moon. It took alot of heroin to make THAT kind of music

Out of those the Black Album is the best, but it's not even Metallica's best album. Where is Master of Puppets, it's far superior to the Black album... and Justice is superior to that but that's a debate for a different time.

Where is Automatic For the People by R.E.M. (hey they are finally coming to Russia) or Zooropa by U2??! Ok, I'd choose Ok Computer.

Bah. Mainstream junk. Not even the Bands in the poll are there with their better opus. ;)

1) Fugazi: "Steady Diet of Nothing"
2) Blumfeld: "Ich-Maschine"
3) The Notwist: "Nook"

Could live with "Beggar's Bankett" of the Stones, or Nirvana's "Nevermind" or one of the Clash albums, too. Or "Hunky Dory" (David Bowie).
Ramones, "Punk"? No bad music, but that's plain RnR, not Punk!
