Trooper. Thank you. I didn't even think of that. I think I can attack with a privateer. I never thought to try it. Lemme give it a whirl and I'll tell you how it goes.

Just for our futher education, why not have one of your French ships put a few broadsides into the Dane. Will it actually stop you from firing? I think you can, but I may be wrong. I've attacked allies before but I'm not sure about locked alliances.

If you try and attack with a normal ship, it will give you a message "No aggression against locked alliance".

The privateer thing worked, but not as I expected. I moved 2 privateers up next to the Danish ship, but was unable to attack. The Danes however, attacked my privateer, and was sunk. I moved my ships into place and now control the channel. Thank you for the suggestion.

That just proves my lack of experience with locked alliances. They can double cross you, but you can't hurt them.
