I created a map and scenario from Gregory Keye's fantasy series "The Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone"
You may not have read the series, but I highly recommend it. Really interesting magic system, fantastic horror elements, and some alternate American history thrown in. The books are: The Briar King, The Charnel Prince, The Blood Knight, and The Born Queen
Centered on the rivalry between the kingdoms of Hansa and Crotheny, the story expands much further to cover much of the map shown here.
I've embellished the map with a few extra civs and cities to make it more interesting. I found the black and white map online, which was a crucial reference for creating this civ IV map.
