Vichy France and getting units to Africa

I did not secure a port and vichy france has taken over.

How do I send my favorite General rommel down to Africa.

Do I have to accept Vichy France? Is there any benefit to taking vichy france on.

SoldierCrush, I am unclear. Are you playing Germany? Or the US? If you are Germany, you have every reason to accept Vichy France. They'll be your ally, you can base in their cities - place air units there, move arms in and out of them, defend North Africa for them if you choose to.

You can delay Vichey France from taking over by not conquring Paris. Go around it.

I know what you mean about the ports, it's annoying having that incompetent idiot run half of France. So I replayed, and I took over most of mainland France before taking Paris. Most critical is Nice, so you have a port in the Mediterranian, then comes Brest, which is the Western-most point of continental Europe (excluding Iberian Pen)

When playing Germany, I invade France and storm past all the cities and then in one turn hit every city at once with a mass of attacks.
