The game messes up with two food bonuses on optimal squares. Maximum space exploitation with 4 cities demands cities on gunpowder (that's OK), wheat, cattle and the fourth obvious one NW of the sugars, thus losing 2 great food squares. Where would you found 4 cities in this case? Answers may of course differ depending the level of expected corruption.

It takes 6 cities for 82 tiles. Less and you do waste tiles. Donnot waste tiles!

Interesting, you go for max tiles in islands like that although you will delay so much in exploiting those squares?
