    It's from a German Civ4 mod called "BASE" - there it is a world project :D

    I have no idea if they made it themselves, but I could not find a source picture online.

    It is a nice photo! The pattern of the planes seems to match, at least. Do you know if any content from that mod made it into RI?

    I don't think so - and that's probably fine. BASE is quite fun, but also a bit more on the goofy side of Civ mods, and RI is generally more polished with a very consistent art style.
