For me my goal was playing a game out, for the first time. And I did it. Next goal: never reload. BTW I even managed not to win once on warlord or chieftan :(
I made it.
My first game I have a win ever: Cultural victory.
But with a few times restarting, reloading. So? I never send in anyway.
Finnaly I get a grip on Civ3, C3C.
I tried and I tried.
If I invaded England but my forces become to scattered around. They are to weaken. By the time then I want to attack the others they just place also an attack on my city wich I usually lose. And then I must just concentrate not to let them invade more of my land. I...
I ask myself how people can so easely conquer the world. I am pumping warriors, swordman, ... And yet I must always retreat because I run out of attackers. Does there exists a replay utility for civ3, ptw c3c. I know the replays in starcraft warcraft helped me a lot.
Yes I see right under the first pic of the starting place a link to the save file, but as allready pm'ed to mad bax

After 3 tries, I still suck. How do you guys do it. I always get involved in a war with another race, my science is always at 40 turns...If I lower I get a negative balance, barbarians are killing my settlers, even if they are escorted by 2 warriors. My units are all like chinese...
If you have winxp, 2000, nt you can always try to stop and restart the printer spooler service.
Also be sure he does not stand on "onderbroken" dunno how that is in english.
WD is the best for me. Next followed by IBM then Maxtor.
Beware European customers if your maxtor goes bad, you must send it to Ireland even if guarantee it is at own cost, as good company they then send you "free" a repaired or new drive.
