I require whatever upgrade you have used as well, as it appears that I have the same problem with hosting servers.

I have had this situation repeat over an over, especially in cases where the island contains a resource such as rubber, uranium, aluminum, etc... The AI probably knows the land of the map, but learns the resources of the land after discovering techs the resource requires, just as we do.

No, only you have to have it, and vise versa for them if they have it and you don't. Its the same with all treaties in the game.

I've had an army of 4 veteran mech infantry lose to 1 veteran rifleman with the rifleman not losing a single health. And was on a grassland tile too. Sometimes these things happen. Thats why we have artillery!
