    Canals

I lke the idea, the number of ships... not sure. I do not think that they should offer a defensive bonus. While in real life, yes a canal will offer some defensive bonusI think it would unduely complicate matters. Combat in Civ is all simplified other wise it would bog down the game, and Civ...

    Medieval Infantry v. Roman Legionary

There is a one point trade off between these two MI being 4/2/1 and RL being 3/3/1... but does anyone have any thoughts on the merits of one versus the other and should you upgrade?

    Give away units

I was not able to find it so I thought I would ask. I liked that aspect in Civ 2... a nice way to provide military assistance and keep your hads clean.

    Give away units

Is there a way to give military units to an ally?

    Unit size

Has anyone ever bother to fingure out what the somperable real world unit size designator would be. For example is a legion really comperable to a Roman legion? Or is and armour unit comperable to a brigade, regiment, division or corps? Understandablly this is is not all that vital (if at all)...

    Outposts...

How close does the enemy need to come to see your outpost? Is it the same as it would be if you just had a unit there?

    Outposts...

Are they really beneficial? It seems to me you could put a unit there and get much of the same befit and not loose the position when the first bad guy shows.

    Modern warfare

Air Borne also will allow you to interdict enemy troops. Drop them in and by your invasion time to get up to speed. Land them and move them into fortified positions or defendable terrain. It is somewhat like the use of ABN units in D-Day.

Civ 2 Veteran Trying Out Civ 3 For The First Time

Read up on Culture... if your culture is strong enough you can get the population of a foreign city will through off the bonds of oppresive backwards gov't and join yours. The cities will border yours and you will have overlapping resource areas. Remember... this street goes both ways...

Annoying Civs without a home - use a privateer!

I have enjoyed the use of priviteers. Maretime interdiction in preparation for war, cut off enemy supplys while you build up for the actual war. Another devious thing, sink your allies! I wanted a specific Russian city, mostly for intelligence purposes, it was a perverbial Gibralter, a...

Civ 2 Veteran Trying Out Civ 3 For The First Time

Another thing, you can telll your doing well if the other civs want to trade therir resource for your resouce and money because the other civ realizes that with your greater # of people andpower that resource will mean more. Especially true with Lux resources. See the war academy for more details.
