One Rhye-era plague effect that has been removed from DoC is killing units with the plague. Disabling its impact on cottage growth should be doable.

Currently, the game's code prevents them from respawning after 2020. I'm not sure if editing the allowed respawn years would work in this case.

We can afford to lose that strait. It's not like Panama or Suez in the sense that closing it off would mean a longer route.

If whoever controls territory within the Colombian spawn area has less than Solid stability, Colombia will spawn.
