Depending on what map you're on and what civ you're playing, trading may be the only way to get some important resources. For instance you may have no grain or cow or sheep. If you trade for them you can build a wagon and distribute that resource. Sometimes trading is the only way to get horses...
Hi Pie, sometimes on a map you might get a bonus resource appear at random (e.g. silver on a hill). but it doesn't always happen. What actually governs this? Is it set somewhere in the WB file, or somewhere in python?
I don't think it's the barbarians (or the fish or immigrants come to that). I played the Egyptians on the Orient map and found the same thing. I couldn't get a second city before 2000 by which time I still hadn't built the pyramids. All the other civs were slow as well. It seems to be OK up to...
I'm finding AI development to be quite slow as well, though I've really only been playing on the 18 civs+barbs map. But just conparing it to the previous patch it seems slow. Two possibilities I can think of (beyond any changes there may be under the hood): The reductions in fish is creating a...
I've got three unhappy citizens in one of my cities. Two messages are: 'We don't want foreign gods', and another is 'We yearn to join our Motherland'. But this is a city I founded myself. It is close to two barbarian cities, does/should that make a difference when it's my own city?
Edit: I've...
Hi Pie,
There appears to be a problem with the way the AI makes its attacking stacks. It favours rams to the extent that it will send maybe 10 rams with a single other unit. Sometimes that unit is a druid. Obviously these stacks are doomed to fail. I've seen this a lot on different scenarios...
What if you can't trade? Even if you can trade I would argue that they're not worth the time and resources you spend in making the Silk Road.
The AI still seems to be having trouble with gold carts. I don't know if that's supposed to be fixed in this patch.
Which patch did you apply before the latest? I'm wondering if missing a previous patch has caused the problem. I went from 6.3.1 to 6.9. Anyway here's patch 6.3.1.
Patches 6.3.1 and 6.4.1 available lower down this page.
