Thanks folks. I actually had a settler ready to reclaim the spot after I razed it, but then greed got a hold of me ("hmmm... no sense it trashing this nice city here"). Next time I'll be more ruthless. Shoulda, woulda, coulda...

Arghh. Built 4 galleys and began moving a large invasion force across a channel to begin attacking those pesky Germans. Rather than raze the city I kept if for a base to attack others. While attacking city #2 (his capital!) I was informed that the city I had just subdued (and had 4 units in!)...
