Civ 5 - Numerous Errors/Bugs: Crashes, crashes, crashes

Hi, I recently purchased Civ 5 and am encountering an extremely large number of crashes. If you search the Internet for "Civ 5 crash" I'm experiencing just about every one that is reported. I have a relatively high-end computer: Core i7 (860), 8GB RAM, ATI 5850 video card with 1GB RAM...
