TMIT, were you tempted at all to go for cannons or artillery? or did you just know you were going to go for the nukes and not going to need them? Also all those horse archers, you had so much gold at one point I thought you would have upgraded them? I only ask because thats what I would have...

My answer can't help you pick one, but I am also new to the mods, and I say... try them all out! :) It's a lot of fun! Just make sure each mod has its own folder, and load them at your pleasure. That's what I've been doing. Its like having several brand new games based on a similar concept.

unfortunately that causes other problems. I thought it had worked at first which confuses me even more that now I get a lot of game crashes. I had to delete BAT and reinstall so now I am back to square one with it. Thanks for trying to help me sort it out anyway.

Thanks for your informative answers, I appreciate it very much. I'll give a WoC lite a try (if I can find it! :) ) once I have reinstalled CIV4 which has gone horribly wrong at the moment and I'm not sure why.

I will usually do a couple of small colonies if they are island chains as mentioned above by z0wb13 but on Terra I usually just put courthouses in to reduce the maintenance and perhaps Versailles or Forbidden Palace especially if I am going for domination win (which is more often than not)
