I sort of wish there was a little more "free time" in colonization to allow for a simplified tech tree. Having just soldiers over a time period of a few hundred years is so simplistic. No UU or UB though, that wouldn't be a good idea. But what about a 3 types of infantry, 2 types of mounted...
yea don't you? I also have Portugal, Russia, Scotland, and Prussia!
Ha! Kidding of course. Yea in custom games you can purposefully choose your opponents and so I was sure to choose both leaders from each available colony. The game was actually not very fun. We were all so close together that...
Well I'm in the same boat as you with having played a fair amount so far without a victory.
1) I don't think it makes any difference myself but my own personal strategy is to simply stockpile weapons. If I get too many I ship them off to other colonies. I never ever sell them to natives...
Once upon a time...
I played a custom scenario of the western hemisphere with all eight european civilizations and there was actually only one native civ in all of north america. Just one. They had a boat load of cities man! And even more units!
Needless to say they were rather disgruntled...
Well the first game I played came to a bit of a stalemate because I had mostly soldiers (I was Washington who gets them cheap; though not Dragoons oddly enough).
What's a pretty standard # of cities? I always tend to get indian invasions with more than 4.
Do you work on LB off the bat...
Alright I have gathered that my troops are tories. That is pretty homoerotic. It's sort of counterproductive to have a standing army if you want to declare your independence, yet can you expect to win that independence without any troops?
You could just stockpile a plethora of guns and...
Alright, in this particular game I was experimenting with having few very large cities as opposed to many moderately specialized cities. My plan was to have absolutely NO liberty bells until I had a nice sized army because I didn't want my King to add troops slowly over time. Both cities were...
I shall be away for the weekend Friday 6 to Sunday 8 to visit some family.
Hopefully I don't miss too much! I leave my deputy, Nomad Bryce, in command of the Interior until my return... I am confident in his abilities and decision making. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
The idea is good but I'm not sure cottages should make up half the tiles... at least not in all cities :) But your on the right track :D
I like what you've proposed and hopefully we can get an open dialogue going, and support it entirely! I'm going to be away this weekend for family and such...
I know this sounds awful coming from me but were will the game info be posted about what our civ is, our starting location, etc.
If that is already been establish were am I NOT looking that I SHOULD be? heh sorry!
Good Luck in your investigations and if I can help in anyway I would be very glad to help... although I profess I have no idea how many elections may be a little odd.
I have, after careful consideration, chosen Nomad Bryce to be my Deputy for a few reasons.
1) After briefly looking over him he appears to be a very organized person which is exactly what we need in this ministry.
2) He, like me, is new to CivFanactics judging by his post-count but still...
Wow! Thanks all for all the requests... I honestly never expected so many! You were all very kind and I'm going to think things over... please don't be offended if you are not appointed! You still have an oppritunity to be on the EAB one day!
I'll announce my decision tomorrow, sorry to keep...
