    To Upgrade or Not??

I recently had this problem in a game I was playing... I had a horde of longbow cit defenders (with excellent promotions), and it would've cost around 8,000 to upgrade them all. At 0% reserach, I was getting 350 gpt, and I really wasn't in the mood to turn off research for that many turns... so...

    Among Royalty

I think that's a very good point. Certainly if you play for too long at the lowest levels, your stategy will be weakened in the long run. Nonetheless, those difficulty levels have value. For example, if you've never played ANY Civ before, starting on Settler or Chieftain is probably a must...

For those who like to fight

Well, that's fair then... I suppose this strategy would not require a tech lead (of any great note) to work in this sort of game (with the rules you mention). Of course, you'd have to imagine that an AI with a balanced army (i.e., pikemen and cats on defense as well as longbows) would be able...

To kill or not to kill?

Basically, the only reason to keep around an AI in this situation is (besides the obvious benefits of extortion in peace treaties) if they have a tech lead on you but are behind the rest of the AI... you might be able to wrangle some nice deals with them in that situation. Granted, typically...

For those who like to fight

So... you're basically saying that your strategy is to get a tech lead on the AI and then attack them with a unit far more advanced than the units they have defending? I think the strategy would require a bit more depth on higher difficult levels.

    Do you raze conquered cities?

I often will, because my wars usually amount to me blitzing my enemy with a large number of a particularly advanced unit. For example, I'll often build up 30 or more cavalry against a nearby enemy, pounce on them and burn as many cities as I can. I keep pumping out cavalry from my cities...

    which UU is the best?

I know the Berserker is great, but one of its greater abilities is the amphibious assault, and if it has to do with naval units, it's useless to me (I almost never build ships except for exploring in the beginning and overseas conquests in the end). Thus I have to go with the Immortal, 'cause...

    Automating workers! (help needed)

Though I completely agree that under no circumstances is it good to completely automate workers, I must say that the first Monarch game I played with manually controlled workers, my head came close to bursting. It is amazing how much more thought process goes into the game if you have to...

    Culture Win

If your going for a cultural victory, I'd suggest spreading any further cities out more (though the time for expansion peacefully has kinda passed). And, as has been stated above, all that jungle isn't going to help with your wonder building, especially not in an ICS. That needs to be chopped...

    Going Nuclear

I have had much experience with nukes in the past (whenever I play regent or below, I always go nuke happy to make the game for exciting). Your best bet is to get as many alliances with neutral civs as you can and get their attitude up to at least polite. If you do that, they shouldn't declare...

Do you have friends that play?

One of my friends used to think Civ was so dull, but very shortly, I got him utterly hooked. However, none of the kids in my grade play it, though one kid, "Played it once a couple years ago at a friend's house... I think." Oh well. Most kids my age are all playin' the 1st person shooters...

Why is my civilisation so happy?

If that person is an old enemy of yours, your citizens will often celebrate (assuming you're winning). It's kind of the opposite of WW, and happens to me surprisingly often.

    What's your biggest blunder?

My biggest blunder was on my first ever regent game. Ghandi was about to build the UN (and win), I freaked and nuked his capitol. Needless to say, he didn't like that too much. For the next 10 turns, I got mercillesly wooped by the Indians who nuked everything I had and rolled me up with...

What is your MAIN factor in choosing which civ to play?

For me, traits are most important. However, I also take into consideration starting techs, which is one of the reasons I favor Commercial (due to the fact that you start with one of the most high priced techs of the Ancient Age). Industrious is a must as well, so that'd mean either France or...

    Capturing Island Cities

I'm almost 100% positive you would take a rep hit. The only time you can break a deal and not take a rep hit is if you break the deal and wipe out that Civilization before they gain contact with anyone. If you do that, there will be no one left alive to squeal on you.
