Maybe a 'send aid' competition was triggered after you suffered a large natural disaster? I love when that happens and I get gold from AI I've taken cities from or who've denounced me!

Wow what a bummer. I was enjoying an apocalypse mode game but restarted my Switch around turn ~300. Wish I wouldn't have downloaded the 'update' because now I can't load my save :( I've been playing that run for over a week and now I can't continue.
