Have solved problem, but can't explain why. I re run 3.19 update. This effectively uninstalled 3.19 (worried I was uninstalling whole of BTS but seems not). Then ran again and re-installed and I'm back in business. Wiped all data during un-install but don't think corrupted game save etc...

Hi I switched my laptop from win 8 to 8.1 recently. I'd installed CIV IV complete on win 8 64bt and had no probs running BTS. I upgrade to win 8.1 (clean install of 64bt version) and noted BTS isn't compatible. I couldn't get to work initially but followed the win7/vista guide on this...
