I think you hit the nail on the head. While it may not be true, this is the internet, and we have been conditioned (both males and females) to troll and be trolled. Evidence is new account with only posts being in this thread which would imply throw away account, controversial...
There are several pro's and cons to doing this, so for me it is situational.
Pro's
The main three reasons are (especially the 3rd):
-Less maintenance costs as an army costs the same as one unit I believe (if not it is significantly less than three units).
-The way combat works in civ6, the...
I have been playing various games now since the patch, and here is what I have determined:
1. Commercial zones and harbors are still needed everywhere for trade routes. However, placement is more important than ever (see below)
2. Internal trade routes are now superior in every way due to...
I have been reading alot here and on reddit, and it seems that the people who have test the new patch agree that a city will either receive bonuses from local factories OR other factories in range.
HOWEVER:
Does the city still get the bonuses from a local indy zone's ADJACENCY BONUSES and...
What normally happens in my games is I look to see where the best locations are for cities. I try to keep them close together (4-6 tiles between) but will spread out if it is obviously needed. This means that at times I will have cities that are 6-10 tiles apart. When I get later in the game...
Industrial zone is more important here. Closely spaced cities will not grow as large, so ammenities are not as big of a concern. If you have a city that only has 1 tile that can reach 1 more city than the other, put the indy zone there. (please keep in mind this is just a general statement...
The answer in the current build of the game is - "The more the better, so place them 3 tiles apart (or 4 tiles if you could the city center)".
The answer in practice is - "How ever many the player feels like managing."
My answer is I try to keep cities with 4-6 tiles of one another (3-5 blank...
This looks to be a big step is the right direction. Still will want the UI, trade route, and production queue mods, but it is still a great step.
Now hopefully the mods dont break with the new update lol.
There is a border expansion problem for every city in every game I have found. I have spent more gold buying tiles in the few weeks civ 6 has been out then I did in all of civ5 lol. Besides, a cheap tile buy early pays for itself in about 30 turns so it is not that bad. Also, at least by the...
I respect your opinion on Petra, but it is not the best wonder in the game. In fact, I would say there is no one best wonder or even a wonder that is necessary. HOWEVER, I would agree if you had said Petra is one of if not the most (potentially) powerful wonders in the game. There are a...
How the heck was that the one feature that saved the game? In the hundreds of hours playing, I can only think of a few times it even was super useful (typically maps with not normal water route around a continent). I guess you were nuking everyone all the time?
