    To be fair, I don't think the demands of the AI routines in Pirates come even remotely close to those in CIV.

    Lost Leader Name

    I had it happen when I started Civ by double-clicking on the save game. That's the only time it happened, and no I couldn't find a way to change it back.

    My loads take a long time as well... probably five minutes. That's with 512 RAM.

    No way - definately an unimproved tile with just a road between Dover and the "lake".

    Graphics Lag

    I've had the exact same problem. After switching back and forth a few times it just sticks at the black screen with the CIV cursor and I have to hard boot the machine. Sucks.

    512meg ram not enough?

    It's done that to me... and it's also dumped me to the desktop and wiped out all my settings leaving me with a god awful video display setting of 800x600 with low quality colors. Very weird.

    The Year 1480

    The game has crashed on me once, and although I don't remember the *exact* year it was certainly somewhere around 1470-1480. hmmm...

    Yeah, picked up my regular edition copy yesterday and was VERY dissapointed to find the manual on CD. Will make me think twice about buying a Firaxis product next time.

    The Great Library was critical at higher difficulty levels! One of the most important wonders IMO.
