I have always loved Civ 6, from the date of release until the date of Humankind release. I visited these forums daily and was always entertained. But the release of Humankind has made it so that, for the first time since October of 2016, I have taken a couple of weeks off Civ and have been...
If you are looking for efficiency:
1) get as many cities you can before turn 70-100 (at least 10 cities is preferable). Focus those first 70 turns or so almost exclusively on expansion (either through settling, invasion, or both). While you are expanding, place campuses in every city as soon...
Put the walls on tiles that could only have farms (or on desert or tundra). Save your hills for production, but the walls are huge producers of culture and money, which can put you much further ahead than if you had just used that land for farms.
Also, the tourism that comes when you discover...
I usually decide as soon as I find out what Civ I am going to be (I usually play random).
However, I know many of the best players often wait until it is time to start mass producing districts (i.e. after building the empire through settlers/conquest) before they decide.
I understand that...

1) how many turns until my capital reaches population 2? I always make sure I start production on a settler as soon as I reach a population of 2, so I like to ensure that, whatever I build first, it can be finished before then.
2) do I have three...

I also leave wonders alone unless I can build them in less than 20 turns (or chop...
Agree with this. Also, I think online speed is more forgiving when dealing with barbarians and surprise wars because you can build units more quickly relative to the time it will take the horde to arrive at your city limits.
For example, if 4 barbarians are 5 turns away from reaching your...
First, make sure that you save the name of the map by pressing the button in the top left (I think it's the left), under "Map Name", otherwise it will just show up as "untitled map".
Then, make sure you have the map enabled under "Additional Content" in the main menu.
I think it is also to prevent people from cheaply producing outdated units then immediately use gold to upgrade (and taking advantage of policy cards to reduce the upgrade costs).
I exploit this whenever I can - I usually have lots of gold while production is harder to come by, so I always...
