    Sorry for the delay, but I was trying to see if 2Kgames could help, but apparently they are pretty useless when it comes to this problem. I did scan my laptop and found two pieces of spyware in my registry, however, I did remove them. I am ready to try and edit the registry.

    Arg, I had a bad feeling that might be the case. My laptop was working fine, then it ran out of batteries and basically crashed every program instead of informing me that it was out of power (which it normally does).     I'm not familiar with regedit, but I'm willing to learn (if possible). My laptop has been acting very stupid lately, such as not being able to run programs like iTunes. It's also being deleting my restore points.

    Nothing is being shown when I look at the task manager. I tried to uninstall the program, but I get an error message saying "Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." ARG!

    Won't recognize Disc

    Nothing happens when I use the normal .exe. The only time I get any activity is when I insert the disc into the CD-Rom, but it never plays the game when I click on play.

    I tried running Civ4BeyondSword_Pitboss, and I get flooded with errors. What could this possibly mean?

    I updated the driver for my CD-Rom, again, and now my computer will recognize the disc. However, nothing happens when I click "Play".

    I'm running XP. Everything was working fine until my laptop ran out of batteries and forced quit every program, including the Beyond the Sword (I was playing it at the time).

    I too am having the same issue. I tried all the suggestions already mentioned, but my computer still doesn't recognize the disk.
