I don't hate the idea but I think I'd prefer a more focused version of ancient Nubia. I mean just looking at that first UHV, it feels a lot like 2 rolled into one; it wouldn't take a whole bunch to figure out a third. If there's going to be an African version of China in terms of time scale I...
Not sure if this counts as a bug or not but in my Congo game I noticed that the Oromo Warriors that spawned outside Ethiopia just sat there menacingly. These 2 saves are almost 300 years apart and while a few more spawn in that time they don't leave that particular tile.
So I feel like this is intended but I couldn't find it in the documentation so: can Congo not build Slave Plantations? It says they only work in the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa, which would obviously include Congo. I get why from a gameplay perspective it might be better that they not...
In addition to being a nice use case for Prophets, I like how this could impact gameplay in SE Asia specifically. Khmer & Burma go heavy into religion and are rewarded with the health they need to overcome their jungles.
I am big dumb and apparently have multiple folders called "Beyond the Sword" and was updating the wrong one. 🤦♂️
This MIGHT be on plain-old 1.16 but I will see if I can't recreate it once I get the files where they're supposed to be.
EDIT: The update is now in the right place and India's spawn...
Following on, I thought a save from right before India spawned would be helpful. You can see that the UHV doesn't fail, and you get the Checkmark once you research Calendar. I can't confirm what happens if another civ researches Calendar naturally, as all my fails have been from Arithmetics or...
Hi, sorry to bring this up again, but would you mind double checking SPECIFICALLY with regards to India spawning and Calendar? I've been trying some new build paths and in this game I again got past the Indian spawn without Calendar and didn't lose the UHV. I have the git update as of...
I think it was the previous git commit but I may have done something wrong. I have updated again now that that game is over and it seems to be working better, though I haven't gotten as far as a victory yet.
Hey all, just returning to this game after a bit of a break. Wonderful to see all the hard work that keeps being put into this great project. Played a game of Babylon and ran into a bit of an issue. The game hangs on the "Waiting for other Civs" instead of going to the victory popup. Also...
Tristan de Cunha is apparently subtropical so cold island would be a weird choice. South Georgia should definitely not have trees. But honestly I'm not sure any of those should be settleable land with the possible exception of St. Helena. A 1 pop city is already FAR more populous than any of...
I was meaning Great Artist, sorry for not being clear. I agree that it's a limited effect but I think from a gameplay perspective it's kind of fine for some of the late game wonders to have effects that are highly niche but very powerful for that niche. Like, yes, it would be largely useless...
I think the Harbour Opera should be geared toward a culture victory. It's one of the most iconic buildings in the world, probably the most well-known performance hall in the world, despite being literally thousands of miles from the vast majority of major population centers. If people know...
In my (pretty limited) experience, the foreign armies tend to be pretty small and either just sit there doing nothing or throw themselves against Rome's walls ineffectively. Especially the Byzantines.
