I had a standard-continents start recently where I was hemmed in between a mountain range and the coast. My entire world would have been limited to 7 tiles (one city) until settler embarkation - at least 40 turns? That seemed unwinnable (on Immortal) to me ...
I do build CD's in pretty well every city.
In the early game, I will alternate building campuses and commercial districts, since I start so far behind in tech and want to catch up asap.
I'm usually going for a dom victory, so by mid game, everyone usually hates me. Since I can't sell luxes...
At Immortal-standard-continents I've seen AI get close only twice, both with Science vc.
AI seems *never* to go for a domination victory. Maybe the developers are trying too hard to avoid the "runaway civ on another continent" problem seen in Civ 5, but AI in Civ 6 seems abnormally passive to...
Well it won't be hard to teach AI not to build barracks in puppet cities if they can't build military units. So I would expect some obvious AI glitches to be fixed.
But Firaxis has a limited budget for beta testing, and there have been a lot of changes vs Civ 5, so I am expecting "plus ca...
No, I agree with BarshyJ. In real life, international diplomacy does not take place on soapboxes, those are reserved for communications with your own population. Plus, nobody ever gives advance notice that they are going to invade a neighbour. I would like to see denouncing removed altogether...
Okay, but did you have any examples of "later AI behaviour" in mind that would be tied to a hidden agenda fixed at turn zero?
I guess where I'm confused is that I thought Civ 5 AI behaviour was based on hardwired leader characteristics, a set of behaviour / disposition modifiers which are...
Maybe if you change the name from "eureka" to "field testing", and change the focus accordingly.
Then you could change the "bonus" condition to a requirement, for example you couldn't complete crossbows unless you have x kills by archers, or you can't complete sailing until you have a...
If hidden agendas are of the type "I like your science", this would seem to just add randomness for the sake of randomness. It is not realistic to have a hidden agenda unrelated to the success of the civ in question. Why should Teddy care whether Elizabeth builds science buildings? Or whether...
Sounds like there are a lot of warmongers out there, based on the level of discussion.
I like the idea of having to conquer all of the capitals, even if this means backstabbing your old allies. This IS about world domination isn't it?
It shouldn't be too hard to fix the main weaknesses to a...
Sorry for being so late to this thread - can I throw out another suggestion on the MCS topic?
I agree with the idea that MCS food supply should be fixed rather than given on a "per city" basis. Maybe make it based on MCS city size, and maybe handle the granularity by having the food go...
Yes, immersion is very important to me too.
Maybe that's why I find the ability to tech beeline so annoying - you can discover microelectronics before dynamite - WTH?
It was in Civ 2, but I only saw it when the capital of a large empire was conquered. I think the reason was that in Civ 2, losing the capital made the cost of subverting the remaining cities much lower, and it seemed too much of an exploit for taking over large civ targets
