Why are desert starts considered overpowered?

@Keirador Russia, Scandinavia, Inuit/Eskimo peoples... And tundra is every bit as resource diverse as desert in real life, it really isn't bad in the game either. Just got me some tundra with 18 iron workable. And the pantheon is rarely absent. It really doesn't make sense that there is...

I think just flipping the settler and the hammer would work. Since small cities also grow faster. Being able to average 6 cities on the way to Civil service while Trad could muster 4 bigger ones could easily outshine the 15% bonus. Right now it's more like 4:4.

In what conquest situation is honor ever better than tradition? Late game? It's an ancient era policy! Shouldn't it, ya know, help in the ancient era? Honor gives you +15 to melee production and +15 to melee strength if you position your units correctly. The way Trad works with the free...

Great points overall, but I have to quibble with this one. Trad gives you 1 happy per 2 pop in the cap and you can take it immediately after legalism, so you can take it right around the time you'd be thinking about settling a second or third city. In the late game that's going to equate to at...

    GWAM generation

Writers gives 7 base, artists 8, mus 9 when filled It looks like you have a ~280% modifier? What all do you have that increases GPP?

    GWAM generation

Hmmm. I think the specialists for all three give you +3GPP and +3Culture, but the buildings are +1GPP for writers guild, 2 for artists, 3 for musicians. So, you've got +7 for GW, with garden, NE that would be 10.5 rounded down. Arts funding is another +33% modifier. which I think would bring...

Give me tips on how to manage relations with AI

I'm pretty sure they don't. Negative modifiers show up either bright red or dark red. Bright red is worse. Same thing with Positive modifiers, except bright green is really good and dark green is kinda good. I have no idea what the raw diplo modifiers would actually be though. You can try...

Give me tips on how to manage relations with AI

Early industrial seems to be when the AI starts thinking about how it is going to win the game. And if you are playing Immo/Deity they're usually hitting ideologies. Once civs start to pick ideologies new alliances emerge while old ones crumble. I'm guessing that isn't the issue here. I'm...

The more I look at this the more I think Oligarchy is the main problem. If you go tall builder/wonderhog, and an honor/liberty fueled army shows up on your doorstep you ought to be in a lot of trouble. But as it stands, you aren't because between the free culture/growth/city garrisons, you can...

You are absolutely right. I actually tried it out on a couple quick games, and it was way OP. Moreso that the free barracks was extremely powerful for Assyria and especially Zulu... Ashur liked the no maintenance, Shaka didn't really care so much. Didn't try the Huns, but yea I could see...

Opener is extremely solid. Leave it. Left side I'd change warrior code to +10% when training any units, free barracks in your first two cities, +50% when building military buildings. Move the free GG and bonus to GG production to Military tradition in addition to the +50% xp. Right...

    Mt. Kilimanjaro

You don't even have to work it. It just needs to be inside your borders.
