Anno 117 just released a short gameplay showcase trailer on YouTube:
They also did this live stream on twitch talking a bit about the game and some new things it was going to bring to the franchise, and a new live stream more in detail about the gameplay will come out in two days, and have...
Having lots of fun, went on a 11 hour for the first two ages nonstop one more turning until 1am.... Funny that the ages help me give a pause to not one more turn too much, but I did the mistake of playing some turns on Exploration and end up playing the whole age and finally being able to stop...
Just on a side note, but I can't see how Brazil would be considered a "base game hard hitters". Of the main civ games, Brazil only have been in 2 of them so far, and only base game in 6. Also with 2K not using regional prices, the game is absurdly expensive here so it will likely sell small...
Also I believe they were listed as ageless and not persistent, which meant (don't remember if the devs already changed the text on the newer builds after some feedback from here) their effect remains but can't be built outside the age (only the persistent warehouse buildings can, iirc)
But I can see they focusing on getting more even amounts for a while for the sake of getting enough civs for people to play three ages games without repeat civs in an age. While we don't have it yet, we should get larger maps in the future. So something like civ 6 where people can go up to 18...
So the dlcs reveal can also put another theory to rest: that being an IP means it is likely that civ isn't planned to be added as an actual civ anytime soon.
I believe that option only reduce the age progression caused by things like legacies and civics. So for example, if you play standard speed, the max age turn still would be 200, but the same actions that would reduce it to 130 on a run will reduce it to a less amount if you go for the longer age...
Another solution that comes to mind, you only see and can interact Treasure fleets relevant to you. So DL civs wouldn't even see on the map treasure fleets coming from the DL, likewise HL civs won't be able to see treasure fleets generated in their HL.
I wonder how much the dislike for a 4th age comes from how in general civs games tend to get more boring later on. Gotta see if the ages system will already make a difference on it with the modern age when people get their hands in the game.
That can be cumbersome but still the easiest part...
Completely agree. I can see how some decisions may also work on balance at the same time, like dividing by ages and a level of reset on age transition, but if you see the reason they came with it is actually to make the game fun: the inherent snowballing of this type of game makes so it often...
