Why have a gigantic list of things to add or change, why not take your entire list (because I have read it) and compile it into one concept make everything optional and toggle-able. Examples:
Stacked Movement: ON / OFF
Set Diplomacy Duration: 20 TURNS / 40 TURNS / 80 TURNS
Anti-Nuclear...
I can appreciate the fact that you and the post following yours are that of appreciation for the game in question. But you and the select few minority of the Civ Community can rate it as high as you like, but it still doesn't change the *fact* that there are existing problems with the design...
Dan, you've been ignoring my posts. Just because Iam against one of your products doesn't mean I've given up hope for your company. I've been a fan for over 8 years now, I'm not about to give up that easily. My "hate-mail" in these forums is my way of venting my anger due to my disapointment of...
I can understand why you nor any other member of Firaxis wouldn't want to face hate-mail. I personally wouldn't. But what are you guys working on? Multi-player, New Editor, More Civs what? You don't have to tell us what is being added, just tell us what is being "attempted". Thank you.
Charles.
On the other hand there are some element of people (like myself for example) that actually do have realistic issues and complaints for good reasons. That could be anything like "missing features" or "too many bugs" or "game is too slow on a big map" whatever the reason(s) being.. it is my right...
CommonSense#1: If they had all the ideas they needed than why did Firaxis make a global "request" for suggestions and ideas for the new coming Civilization III in 97' ? And obviously they DO need ideas because I can think of a million ways to improve the game! And if your theory is that the game...
Before I begin, slightly off topic. I love cars. I own/drive a 1979 Buick full size (gloss black) all restored, tires/mags, Turbo400 Hydromatic Tranny with a shift kit, powered by a 425 Olds-Rocket BB V8 with perf. pistons and valves. It's horrible on gas, but even with the 3500-4000lbs of...
First of all your not being forced to read all of this, just because negative messages exist in these forums and threads doesn't mean your doomed. You just simply do not have to read them is all. If something offends you, skip onto the next message, simple. But I do agree people should not only...
First of all, and I hope this is the last time I have to explain this to you. "Reviews" are bullsh_t. They were bought, paid for and over exagerated. Any real gamer knows this. And for one simple reason, the review NEVER shows bad reviews. It's one-sided for a reason... and one reason only, to...
Impossible. Large map - 16 civs on the highest difficulty (deity) and I was at least a 10 city jump on the largest empire. Basically my game is a "rapid expand" with little or no time for anything else but defense and settlers. My military advisor always keeps me informed on how my army is...
Because, obviously we aren't happy with Civ3. And you wanna know the worst of it? We actually paid for it. I get more excitement from the forums than cartoon-like graphics, un-realistic artificial intelligence and bad micromanagement. If you catch my drift.
Charles.
Bogus, they knew exactly what they were doing. Firaxis had five years to come up with some really good concepts and designs with the help of the thousands of fans sending them ideas. And then they had a two year contract with Infogrames to prepare the overall plan. If 35 professional programmers...
Unrealistic expectations? So the fact that a game company used shrewd marketing tactics and inflated exgeration to trick the consumers into buying up the products before they realized what they were getting, has nothing to do with it? Bogus, they knew exactly what they were doing. Fact is, they...
