After resetting to defaults, i have been playing 5 hours straight without black screen. Maybe my custom settings were just too stressfull for the graphics card. ;)

With 1.0.1.217 I am having the same issues as you describe. During game play the screen suddenly turns black with game cursor still visible and music in the background. Happens quite frequently every 30 minutes to 1 hour. Running DX11, 1920x1080/50Hz, 8x MSAA, All on "HIGH", V-Sync enabled...

If you quoted the numbers correctly then your hard drives are very fragmented and a defragmentation would be recommended on both drives. Fragmentation: lower numbers are better Defragmentation (if such a word exists): higher numbers are better Let us know if it helps. Waiting for so long...

Got the same thing. Not sure if it is a bug though... could be a feature. I actually woulded mind at all if you could do something on the second screen without having the game mimize itself. Ah well... nothing is perfect... back to the game

i got even an older radeon 9000 mobility with 32mb. i'm a little worried that it will not run well with civ4, although it ran pirates! at low level graphical settings with almost no problems. only almost no problems because it had issues when displaying some indoor sequences like the tavern...

I do not mind the ads generally... even support them to keep civfanatics a free site. But pop up ads are a bloody pain in the behind. I'm using firefox to browse the side with popup blocking activated, but still some of them seem to get through, especially on the main civfantics page. So...
