Capturing a city causes it to lose a population point. If you capture a city with a pop of 1, it no longer has any population and disappears. If you are recapturing your own city, this loss is avoided.

I have thought of a space station or satellite small wonder that shows a different patch of land each turn where you can see all units and investigate cities free. The patch of land shifts every turn so you don't get to choose which place you see, it just points wherever the satellite is in space.

A small wonder I would like to see added is the Panama Canal. It would be nice to add a water tile to a city that is only one square from being a choke point on a conitnent so that the already too slow ships don't have to sail all the way around.
