    Stalker0's State of the Mod - 1/11/2022

I think there only one such civ, England. And it suffers from its design along with weak spies as of now.

    Stalker0's State of the Mod - 1/11/2022

I see no problem with naval civs, they are widely known both as one of the strongest for humans and in AI performance alike, especially Carthage, the Netherlands, Portugal, Polynesia. Sea resource start is probably the strongest start available for most civs with brutal monopolies like +2...

Proposal: Add a ranged Slinger unit before Archer

So if it's not affecting difficulty, let's not move jungle clearing.

Most of what I see how garrison works now is intended by Gazebo and it works well. Gazebo's explanation 1 Gazebo's explanation 2 And correction: cities always use land unit strength if present in the city alongside naval one.

But I dont know what you mean. I agree with what you are saying and I believe it is how it works currently.

Yeah, that's good design. And having both a land and a naval unit as a garrison don't combine their defenses. You only get one, higher one or always land one, it's difficult to measure as you usually put knights when there's trireme present or similar. Note that ranged naval units can't attack...

Proposal: Add a ranged Slinger unit before Archer

We already moved forests and marsh clearing forward. And brought jungle clearing to calendar from the bottom of the tree which doesn’t make sense. Jungle starts require playing around them, they are challenging and unique. Jungle clearing even earlier is robbing them if their uniques and...

    Stalker0's State of the Mod - 1/11/2022

I’ve never mentioned naval melee not being able to attack cities, I specifically said they would keep they promotions against cities. They need to retain them, otherwise naval warfare in competitive games would be nearly impossible. Melee naval would still be able to attack cities to...

    Stalker0's State of the Mod - 1/11/2022

But it does mean they will have bigger negative modifiers with you if you voted against them, which can amount to more DoWs, doesn't it? Or was it handled a different way and they will remember it only when casting their votes next sessions e.g. it wouldn't affect diplomacy outside of congress...

    Stalker0's State of the Mod - 1/11/2022

Yes, in my experience they seem to be unconcerned with runaways whether it is a player or other AI. I heard the devs are on a good track to tackle this partially by making AI remember your WC votes and holding you responsible next version. That's a very good idea to start with.

Fair enough but that would make no sense as one island city are common.

That can be included in not understanding the game I mentioned. Land units can embark... You can even stack under naval units but no multiple land units. I'm not sure if you know, so I will to be sure Civ 5 is explained: melee can attack land from embarked while ranged not.

Proposal: Add a ranged Slinger unit before Archer

If majority of people who propose and see the reason for balance change play lots of mod mods which completely rebalances and changes what VP is, it should be invalitated with all force. If someone thinks that adding lots of stuff or changing settings like game pace doesn't change anything and...

Proposal: Add a ranged Slinger unit before Archer

VP Discord is a place where no more than ten people are active, pineappledan included, and they all play so heavily modified VP, with loads of submods, a person who just plays normal VP wouldn't been able to recognize it's the same game from the screenshots they post there, with new/altered...

    Stalker0's State of the Mod - 1/11/2022

Not true. It suffers, sometimes heavy, it's visible in tourism screen, and can be influenced by the player denying them trade and by ideologies. I've seen twenty cities Carthage suffering from chronic unhappiness or France flipping ideologies recently. Warmongers pay very good for resources when...
