Losing a 99.9% battle, more than once. Alternatively, when I was playing FfH, invaded Council of Esus (gives Invisibility with the Holy Sgrine) lands, and got half my army (including 2 heroes, and my highest exp units) wiped out in 1 turn by invisible ???'s.

My machine can really only handle Epic speed (in strategic mode, too!). On Civ IV, however, I'll always play Huge/Marathon.

And this is why I don't usually sign DPs with AIs, especially when I'm more powerful.

Really the biggest thing with the Khazad is getting loads of money. With the Khazad, you've got a UB in each city called the Dwarven Vault, which gives bonuses (or penalties) to the city depending on the amount of gold you've got. This is calculated by the amount of gold you've got total...

I'll typically play Fall from Heaven on huge maps (epic or marathon time speed). Makes for a REALLY long game, that oftentimes takes weeks to finish. I just feel like that size gives me plenty of room in different environments to expand my civ.

I also try to avoid overlap (mega cities are what I go for, and mega cities demand lots of food), but if there is an area with good resources, then I'll overlap a bit.
