Heh...well in my case it's my husband who's telling me it's time to "turn the damn game off". A couple of nights ago I was playing, and my husband walked in the room to inform me it was 1AM and wanted to know if I was planning on taking the next day off from work. I shrugged and told him I'd...
You don't have T&L. Even a patch won't fix your problem unfortunately. I have the same video "chip" and finally just upgraded to a GeForce FX 5500. Everything works great now.
I'd be surprised if a patch can fix the fact that Intel integrated graphic "cards" do not support T&L. I upgraded today and I'm so glad that I did. I realize now that my Intel "card" was robbing my system memory this whole time (obviously I'm not a computer whiz).
That is the card I bought today at Best Buy for $80. I upgraded from an Intel Integrated Extreme Graphics chip. Everything works fine now (no more black terrain).
Yeah...I know it's not a "card"...it's a "chip". I don't play many other games other than CIV so this hasn't been a problem for me before. I have other things in my life that keep me plenty busy so PC gaming isn't at the top of my priority list ;)
No...Civ IV did not work right with my Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics chip. I have an HP Pavillion Pentium 4 2.53 GHz 512 MB CPU. I had dark terrain and the ghost leaders (as my son called them). I bought a GeForce FX 5500 128 MB card today for $80 and the game works great now. Not...
I can empathize with you. I had an Intel Integrated Extreme Graphics card and thought it would support this game. Well, it didn't. I had the black terrain problem. Come to find out my card didn't have T&L support, which this game requires. I went out and bought a GeForce FX 5500 128 MB card...
I had the same problem with my Intel Extreme Graphics chip (doesn't support T&L). I bought a GeForce FX 5500 for $80 today (this was the cheapest that I could find that I knew would work). The game looks and runs fine now. The intro movie is still a little choppy. I'm using Driver version...
Don't you have to prove gross negligence for this type of lawsuit? While I've always thought the video game manufacturers and video card manufacturers scratch each other's backs I don't think this warrants any type of lawsuit. It's simply a product of capitalism.
I am slightly troubled if...
I agree with you. I'm a little upset that I had to shell out an extra $80 to upgrade my video card, but I'm sure I would have had to do this sooner or later anyway. I love CIV and it was worth the extra investment to be able to play this game.
Hi...I've been a fan of CIV since CIV II. I absolutely loved CIV II Fantasy Worlds. I'm proud to say that my 10 year old son is also a CIV fan and has been talking about CIV IV for quite a while now.
I bought the game on Thursday and was quite disappointed when I found out my Intergrated...
I thought that my Intergrated Intel Extreme Graphics could handle this game but it didn't. I experienced the black terrain problem and the ghost people (as my son called them). I checked my system out at srtest.com and found out I was dead wrong. While Intel Extreme Graphics does have 3D...
