Hm I downloaded this. V4 in the game browser: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=402566 But it seems its only portraits and changed names, so all mods in the game browser are like that? small things?

I see, so no problem with the most downloaded mods right? I checked that the first fantasy civlization mod is Warhammer 40k with about 32k downloads so I guess its safe.

I checked that you can download mods through the game but It says maybe they can contain virus and so, where these mods are hosted?

Sometimes my load times with Steam are longer if Steam servers are too busy and the pop up window "XXXX game is starting" and takes his time, but this isnt the same, that pop up window disapear fast and is after that when the game takes too long to load.

For me, Vanilla starts pretty fast and Warlords takes a little bit -try sometime and tell me. The problem is, why the first load is so long? cache? but I deleted them (holding shift and deleting the conten folder), and after the first load, it works very fast

No, Steam is not the culprit, vanilla and warlods load times are fine.

Im talking about the Steam version. I start the game, first the little screen of steam "starting beyond the sword" that go fast, then my HD is working for about 40 seconds until the mini loader screen of Civilization IV BtS appears. After the first load, if I quit the game and restart it...
