    The Official Civ4 Ideas Thread

That's a whole different matter. If a dude, on a horse, with a rifle would ride up to a man with a spear he would obviusly win the fight. Why? He can is faster. I have an idea how to increase the advantage of units that use long range weapons over units that have melee weapons. Well it...

    PTW Baltic 140 x 140

Hehe, I was just about to ask the same thing. But whatever, as long as Estonia is on the map I am satisfied. But on a side matter, would it work with Civ III ? Because my PC can't handle PTW (351 MB CPU).

    The Science Choke

Hmmmm......just a tought, but what would happen if you would surround the Civ's boarders with soldiers. They can't expand, because workers nor settlers can attack and the AI doesn't attack "for the heck of it"...I'll try that and see how it reacts.

    Dogpile Strategy: The Aftermath...

You said you were fortifying units on your borders? Big mistake. In my previus game with the Germans I wanted to conquer Rome just for the heck of it and the sentimental value, like, I mean, everyone wants to conquer Rome...I think... Anyway, unless, you are not planning on moving those...

    The Science Choke

Hello thar, all you Civ Fanatics. I have (or I hope that I have) discovered a new strategy. I call it the Science Choke. It can also be the Money Choke or Luxury Choke or even the Resource Choke. This has to be done in really early times. Preferrably with a civ that has an ancient UU. I used...

    Defense bonus

I believe it would be 24 as 100% of 10 is 10 plus the 25% of ten which is 4 and it equals 24. But then again the fifth grade is quite far away and maybe I said it wrong....I dunno

The worst part of the game

Yeah, I like those weak little countries too. It's fun to see them expand like crazy, but since they didn't bother building a reasonable army I take their empire with a quick swift and name them my own. Great fun. Anyway, I hate that settling thing too. This time is kinda scary since you...

    Slow, slow, sllloowwww artillery

I use artillery for sea defence. Since I never build any naval units unless the enemy is overseas or I have to send settlers to some point in order to get natural resources. They are also good for weakening units like infantry who are a pain in the ass to get rid of. Especially when they are...

Has anyone ever eliminated a civ right when you first meet?

I did it once, in my very first game ever, after the tutorial had ended I went scouting with 3 archers, met the Egyptians and destroyed their 2 cities.

    The Official Civ4 Ideas Thread

I have got an idea. Couldn't there be Dark ages for each civ? Like in 1910-1940(I am not a bit certain about the eyars), the time of the great depression ,America would suffer from a high corruption, many unhappy people and citie's population dropping due to the drop of food and shield...

1000 Clues youve been playing Civilization 3 too much

2921: Before you hit someone you make calculations with the movement rate so you would have a chance of getting away. 2922: Before you attack someone you make sure he/she isn't standing on a small lump so he/she wouldn't get a 50% defense bonus

New civs and nits in the next game

Just post your ideas. Restricted to your wishes about new civilizations and units appearing in the game. New civs could include someone like the Cubans, Fidel Castro as their leader. I am not sure about any others. Seems like all are included in civ already (or just the more known ones)...

My dad would play but he still can't grasp it, how all the little people got into the monitor. I play just like her....

    I Just Want To Loved

From my experience, the computer never gathers soldiers to some country's boarders and then declares war. It first wages war and then sends soldiers. The enemy is pissed at you because whenever they move their units to your boarders you tell them to leave, ever tought of that?
