Ive found that when my civ gets larger (covers 1/3+ of map) that i don't need to produce units in every city. My question is what do you guys do with em? The only thing i can think of is to make every one in a city a specialist(entertainer etc.) so they dont make anything.

Thats what happened to me. Although I dont think I did it for 400 yrs.;) Anyway, thanks for the help guys. Now hopefully it wont take me too long to find another continent.

Ya I've got the Aztecs down to two cites so the shouldnt be around too much longer. Also I thought you could only move the ships along the coast, thats why i couldnt look for the other continent. But i could wrong.
