d'Artagnan Dumbass strikes! My apologies... the reason I couldn't upgrade horsemen to knights was that the upgrade was more costly than I realized ($80) and I didn't have the cash handy. Thus, no upgrade button appeared. :suicide: Sorry (ugh)

I'm also playing as the Americans. Hmm...... Really weird that I can build Knights, but in the same cities I can't upgrade to them. :cry:

Hello! Using v1.17g, I built a goodly number of horsemen (to complement my swordsmen) in preparation for war with Persia, knowing that not long after the onset of hostilities I'd be able to upgrade to Knights. Not to be! :( My horsemen, sitting on cities w/barracks and with noted access...

After installing the patch, I've had several crashing incidents as well, and they also seem consistent with what's been reported around here: Dialog with other rulers. I got machine-gunned with crashes on Saturday when several rulers were lined up to speak with me. However!!! :enlighten...
