It seems like when I play a game of archipelago or any islands map I always have trouble with like -17 gold and 6 unhappiness. Is there a strategy for preventing this in an Island game. Maybe just go with 2 cities until you are more established?

I have a Dell Slim Sudio. Quad Core 2.33 Ghz and 4Gb RAM. ATI Radeon w/ 2Gb, it is the factory installed. I can only play on the lowest graphic settings. What do I need to be able to put the graphics up higher. And it has to fit the Slim desktop.
