Is it recommended to beeline the Petra tech when you spawn in a "Petra location"? Beeline as in prioritize over Philo is what I'm asking.

I've a much bigger hard on for settling on a luxury resource. When the stars allign and you get a hill, lux, river and mountain you're dandy. Ill rate the four (five) to river, hill, settle on lux, (settle on coast), mountain though.

I'm having problems with actually getting Stonehenge on King, normal speed. Sort of throws a wrench into the plan. I think Im going straight for it, trying a small map now.

I really dont know where to put this: Im running BAT2.1.1a and BUG, and sometimes Civ 4 crashes on me when Im trying to resume a game. I mean every save of that game crashes Civ 4. I havnt crashed just running BUG, so I think it lies with BAT. Thats all the detail I can get out of it; is there...

I tried applying some the advise here in my own game, but can you really rush when the only other bugger on your island has 6 cities or so? Im probably impatient with my rush; 8 horse archers at 600BC In my few games ive played on normal speed, but this was epic on monarch.
