I've been able to determine, via running the DirectX update tool on the CD itself, that something is wrong with the DirectX installation itself. Anybody have any idea how to reset this DirectX thing and purge the problem?

Okay, I have searched far and wide for a forum post relating to my specific problem here, and I have not been able to find one. I'm running XP/SP3 on a "Boot Camped" MacBook Pro with Intel DualCore 2.16 Ghz processors, 2 GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1600 with 256 MB of VRAM. I have a Civ4...
