Don't develop any technologies other than focusing on getting literature. Get the Great Library and have all the other techs come right in (tried it and got 10). The more civs the more effective this is.

I can't figure out how to use embassies it says in the manual to click the foreign ministry icon in your capital city but I don't see one. What does it look like or how do you make embassies? thanks
