I haven't played for awhile. For some reason I always have a rough time starting around the end of the second period. I'll do pretty ok at start and be the point leader, but then I start getting passed and end up playing catch up for awhile.
So this time I was trying to watch closely to...
Out of the blue. I wasn't even watching the victory conditions. I figured everything was ok actually. No spaceship stuff going on. No domination problems... blam, lose =P
I decided to do challenger. Everything was going good until around printing press area of the tech tree and i got a little behind.
Pascal declared on me and a few turns later Hammurabi did the same. I soundly thumped their invading forces for hundreds of years. I built up a small tech lead...
I'm doing adventurer. only mediocre player and i've only played botm 1 in last long while.
Hmmm.. I think i'm heading north somewhere. Adventurer has extra scout so i'll run him 2N and see whats around.
2 ways.
HOF options: in game, options, on HOF3 tab select creat save on end turn.
Autosave: In your "documents\my games\Beyond the Sword\civilizationiv.ini" find AutoSaveInterval and set it to 1.
Well crap! I'll probably get DQ'd from BOTM 1 now. Crashed on exit and created no save. Went with the last autosave, but I didn't have it setup for saving each turn on my new system... so not sure if I replayed a turn =/ Still going to submit since it's getting close to the end, but odds are...
I did some hardware/partition rearranging. If I pickup mid WOTM on a fresh install (of everything), is this going to cause HOF to throw a fit? I don't want to spend time finishing it to get booted.
I tried to kill off england early... My first wave didn't finish off the town. It turned into a protracted battle that ended up in my finally finishing them off in 480BC.
Now that i'm nice and behind I just sit back and wait for the other AI's to crush me.
